Opening of a new motorway

9 October 2004

Crown princess Mary officially opened a new motorway of about 10 kilometer in Hirtshals. It's the most northern motorway of Denmark, connecting Bjergby and Hirtshals in Nordjylland.

Before the opening there was a small protest against the motorway. But thousands also showed up for the opening and the new princess.

As a gift the new princess received a gold necklace by a local jeweller.

Mary was accompanied by her lady-in-waiting, countess Victoria Bernstoff-Gyldensteen.

Mary wore a new Marni coat and a new bracelet by Marianne Dulong.

The press was full of rumours that Mary was pregnant. In reality she wasn't and woudn't be for another 4 months.
