Australia tour: day 15

11 March 2005

In the morning crown prince Frederik and crown princess Mary gave a 30 minute press conference at Hobart Government House.

When the press conference was over, they planted a tree in the stately mansion's grounds.

They then visited the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery before travelling by helicopter to the Port Arthur Historic Site, accompanied by Mary's lady-in-waiting countess Victoria Bernstorff-Gyldensteen.

After returning to Hobart by road, they attended two events at Wrest Point, a state reception for 1200 guests...

... And a gala dinner, the Chocolate Lovers Ball.

Among the guests were Mary's sister Jane & her husband Craig Stephens.

They returned at 23:45 to Government House in Hobart, where they spent the night.

This was the couple's last official day on the tour. They spent another week holidaying in Tasmania.

Mary was in the first stage of her pregnancy with Christian. The news hadn't been made public yet.
