This weekend marked the kick off of a huge 200th birthday celebration of writer Hans Christian Andersen in Denmark.
After lots of activities during the day, the royal family joined in at night with a gala dinner at Det Kongelige Teater in Copenhagen. The gala was broadcast live on Danish TV.
Among the guests were nearly all HC Andersen ambassadors, such as princess Laurentien of the Netherlands and Isabel Allende.
At her arrival crown princess Victoria of Sweden was accompanied by Mary's lady-in-waiting, countess Victoria Bernstorff-Gyldensteen & by Elisabeth Tarras-Wahlberg, director of the press department at Swedish court. (see video).
