Summer cruise to Bornholm: day 2

22 June 2006

On their second and final day of the summer cruise, Frederik and Mary visited the town Allinge, the Bornholm Museum of Art, a fish smokery in Hasle, and de glass and ceramics school in Nexø. About 15.000 people came to see them.

Mary wore a new coat by Balenciaga.

At the herring smokery Frederik was asked to hold a herring, to which he responded by putting his arm around Mary and saying he'd brought his own. The Danish word "sild" means both herring and sexy woman...

At night the princely couple greeted well wishers from the deck of the Dannebrog before sailing back to Copenhagen.

Summer Cruise to Bornholm: day 1

21 June 2006

The crown princely family sailed to Bornholm on the royal ship Dannebrog. They were accompanied by Christian Eugen-Olsen, Caroline Heering and a nanny. Their dog Ziggy went along on the cruise as well.

When they arrived in Rønne it was raining. Mary, Frederik & Christian greeted the onlookers from aboard the ship, before coming down and shaking hands.

On the main square they were officially welcomed by the mayor and a local band played for them.

Before having lunch at Hotel Griffen the party returned to the ship to spend an hour with Christian.

In the afternoon they visited an ancient (iron age) burial complex, Store Bjergegårdsbakken.

In the evening there was a dinner with invited guests.

Mary wore new pumps by Pedro Garcia.

There was speculation in the Danish press about Mary being pregnant again. She wasn't pregnant, but would be two months later.
