An Australian jewel for Mary

2006

Australian jeweller Sylvia Dimasi was aproached by the South Australian government to design a piece of jewellery for crown princess Mary, on the occasion of the birth of her first child, prince Christian.

Dimasi made a versatile jewel from opal and diamonds, that can be worn as either a ring, a brooch or a pendant.

When she was in Copenhagen for an exhibition of her work, Dimasi was thanked for the gift by chief-of-court Per Thornit. She later also received an official thank you letter from Danish court.
