A new home & Hjerneskadeforeningen

27 February 2007

At 7 months well into her pregnancy, crown princess Mary kept a busy schedule. Just like her first pregnancy - barely 16 months earlier - she had the fortune of being in excellent condition.

First Mary & Frederik received a financial donation from Flemming Borreskov, the CEO of Realdania for the of their new redsidence, Frederik VIII's palace in the center of Copenhagen. Realdania is a private real estate organisation that supports philantrophic architectural projects.

The former official residence of queen Ingrid was being stripped and modernized completely. For the new refurbishment 8 contemporary artists had been chosen to make a contribution: Olafur Eliasson, Jeppe Hein, Kasper Bonnén, Jesper Christiansen, Erik A Frandsen, John Kørner, Tal R, Morten Schelde and Kathrine Ærtebjerg.

The crown princely couple posed with the artists.

In 2011 the works would be finished and the family moved into the "new" palace.

Crown princess Mary was accompanied by lady-in-waiting Caroline Heering for the next activity: a visit to Mary's patronage "Brain Injury Association".

Mary was invited to celebrate the Association's 1st year of activities in it's "Hovedhuset" in Frederiksberg.
