Twenty-third patronage: Buster

Crown princess Mary was present at the opening of children's film festival "Buster" in Copenhagen, at 10:30 in Palads Teatret.



She was accompanied by lady-in-waiting, Tanja Doky.


Mary's blouse was sold at Haberdash in 2015.

Visit to Bulgaria: Day 3

In the morning, crown princess Mary and crown prince Frederik visited the secondary school for applied arts “Prof. Venko Kolev” in Troyan.


Afterwards they visited the Troyan Monastery.



The visit to Bulgaria concluded that afternoon with a visit to the National Exhibition of Handicrafts in Oreshak and an official farewell from the president.

Crown prince Frederik and crown princess Mary visited the National History Museum in Sofia.



Afterwards they were shown the ancient Thracian city of Plovdiv.

Visit to Bulgaria: Day 1

15 September 2008

Crown prince Frederik and crown princess Mary made an official 3-day visit to Bulgaria.

At noon Frederik & Mary arrived in Sofia for a meeting with the president and his wife, Mrs. Zorka Parvanova.



In the late afternoon they visited the St. Alexander Nevski Cathedral.


At 20:00 there was an official dinner in honor of the crown prince couple hosted by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria and Mrs. Zorka Parvanova.

Donation for Hjerneskadeforeningen

As patron of the Danish Brain Injury Association, crown princess Mary was handed a donation of a million kroner from the Remmens Fonden, at HovedHuset in Frederiksberg.


She was accompanied by Caroline Heering, who acted as lady-in-waiting.

Kronprinsparrets Kulturpris 2008

Crown prince Frederik and crown princess Mary handed out their annual cultural awards, at the Copenhagen Opera House.


Mary wore a new dress by Niels Kristiansen.

Among the guests were Peter & Caroline Heering and Tanja & Chris Minh Doky.





The Crown Prince Couple's Culture Prize for 2008 was awarded to Danish singer-songwriter Tina Dickow.


The humanitarian prize went 'Morgencaféen for Hjemløse'  from Blågårds Plads in Nørrebro, Copenhagen.


Mary lost one of her earrings...

After a long summer vacation (2 months of holidays at Marselisborg, Skagen, Graasten and Australia - interspersed by a short working visit to North Slesvig and 5 days at the Beijing Olympics), crown princess Mary went back to work.

Together with Frederik, she was present at Imperial Biografen in Copenhagen for the gala premiere of "Arn 2. Rigen ved vejs ende".

Australian Holidays: A night on the town

Mary, Frederik and Amber were joined by about 10 other friends for a night at Hugos in Manly, Sydney. They stayed untill closing time.


A few days later Mary was reported shopping in Bondi.

This was the last sighting of Mary, before they returned home to Denmark.
