As patron of the Danish Refugee Council, crown princess Mary went on a 4 day humanitarian visit to Uganda. Caroline Heering was the lady-in-waiting who accompanied her on this trip, together with the Danish ambassador to Uganda and the delegation of Dansk Flygtningehjælp. The princess was also closely followed by various film crews who had made a deal with court to produce a documentary on the visit.
On the first day they visited a kindergarten in Kampla run by the organization 'Taso' involved in the fight against HIV. While ill parents recieve treatment and counselling the children are being taken care of in the kindergarten.
