Trip to Australia: day 11

On their second day in Sydney, pregnant Mary, Frederik and Christian made a cruise on board a 41 meter catamaran to Pittwater. They were joined by Australian friends including Amber Petty and Chris Meehan.

Trip to Australia: day 9

30 November 2006

Pregnant Mary, Frederik, Christian and Amber Petty were seen shopping at "Mon Bebe", a children's clothes boutique in Melbourne.

They were accompanied by bodyguards and by nanny Mette Hansen.

Frederik & (pregnant) Mary took Amber for a sightseeing tour around Århus. They also did some shopping.

Baptizing "Gudrun Mærsk"

Frederik and Mary accepted the invitation to baptize the container ship "Gudrun Mærsk" in Odense - at that time the largest container ship in the world.

They were personally guided around the ship by the then 92 year old Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller, the richest man in Denmark and close allie of the royal family.

Also at this event were Mary's Australian friends Amber Petty, Hamish Campbell and his fiancée Genevieve Taubman. They had come over to Denmark to visit Mary.

Hamish Campbell has been a close friend of Mary since they met at Hobart University. He's godfather to prince Christian, and with his wife Genevieve he's regularly visited Mary in Denmark and France (Cayx). He lives in Sydney and is the owner of Exton Investment. In March 2007 he got married to Genevieve Taubman. She's the co-owner of The Mint Partners, a lifestyle communications agency. The couple have 2 sons: James and ???

Making trips with Mary's family

During their last week in Australia Mary & Frederik went on private trips in Tasmania with Mary's family & Amber Petty. The were seen taking the West Coast Wilderness Railway, and on a boating trip.

Australia tour: day 10

6 March 2005

More than 600 people watched the royal couple arrive for a service at the Danish Church at Pennant Hills, Sydney.

Afterwards they climbed and toured Sydney Harbour Bridge with Amber Petty and Jane & Craig Stephens.

 

At night Mary gave a party for 30 friends at Amber Petty's house.

Australia tour: day 6

2 March 2005

Mary and her lady-in-waiting visited a women's shelter in Sydney on behalf of the Red Cross.

Mary wore a new skirt by Day, Birger et Mikkelsen combined with a new Prada belt.

At night the couple attended the charity gala dinner "One Enchanted Evening" for the 90th Anniversary of the Australian Red Cross, at the Westin Hotel in Sydney.

Mary wore a new top by Kenth Fredin, and a new gala skirt by Oscar de la Renta.

Also present were Per Thornit, countess Victoria Bernstorff-Gyldensteen...

... Amber Petty and her friend Luke, and Mary's sister Jane Stephens.

Among the VIP guests were swimmer Ian Thorpe and actress Olivia Newton-John.

Mary was in the first stages of her pregnancy with Christian. The news hadn't been made public yet.
