State Visit from Russia: Day 2

Russian president Dmitry Medvedev and his wife, Svetlana Medvedeva paid a two-day state visit to Denmark. Mary was in the first stage of her third pregnancy, expecting twins. The news hadn't been made public yet.

At 11:00 crown princess Mary & Russian first lady Svetlana Medvedeva arrived at Rosenborg Slot for a guided visit.








Tanja Doky was present as Mary's lady-in-waiting.




At 17:45 the Danish royals were the guests of the Russian president at Tivoli's restaurant Nimb.


Afterwards they enjoyed a ballet with the dancers of the Mariinsiki & Bolshoi Theatre at Tivoli's Konsertsal.


Mary wore new pumps by Rupert Sanderson.



At 20:10 the state visit officially ended with a farewell from the Danish royals to the Russian presidential couple.

State Visit from Russia: Day 1

At 16:40 the Danish royals received the Russian president & his wife at Kastrup airport.






Mary was looking very tired, understandable as she was in the very first stage of her pregnancy.


She wore a new pair of earrings from the Ole Lynggaard Winter Frost collection.


Around 18:00 they arrived at Fredensborg Slot for an official reception.




At 20:00 a gala dinner was hosted at Fredensborg Slot.

Prince Philippe's 50th Birthday Weekend

Mary & Frederik spent the weekend in Brussels, Belgium to attend the 50th birthday party of crown prince Philippe of Belgium.

The party was kept very private and only a few blurry pictures were made of the royal guests when they exited the Plaza Hotel to be driven to Laeken castle.




Earlier in the day they had visited the Magritte Museum together - without Maxima who preferred to go shopping.




The next day there was a brunch at the Plaza Hotel.

Forskningens Døgn 2010 + Goodbye to Per Thornit

As patron, crown princess Mary was present at the official opening of "Research Day", at Planetariet in Copenhagen.

Mary arrived at 10:00


Mary also handed out the Forskningskommunikationspris.





Later that day, Mary joined Frederik, Joachim & Mary for a farewell reception for the crown prince couple's retiring chief of court, Per Thornit.



Mærsk McKinny Møller was also among the guests.






Mary was in the first stage of her third pregnancy, expecting twins. The news hadn't been made public yet.

Per Thornit would later say he was one of the first to hear from Frederik that Mary was having twins. Thorning had become very close to both Frederik and Joachim over the years, and he'd been Mary's mentor on her way to becoming crown princess, guiding her during her first years in Denmark.
