Visit to Vollsmose

Crown princess Mary and her lady-in-waiting, Caroline Heering, made a visit to Vollsmose, a suburb of Odense with a large immigrant and refugee community. Vollsmose has often had a crime related connotation.

 Mary wanted to get the know the everyday life in Vollsmose on a weekday. She was given a tour with visits to a school, a day care center and a women's job project. Then she had lunch at the home of a Palestinian family.

The day ended with a reception visited by both the crown princess and a delegation of immigrant locals.

Mary was in the very first stage of her pregnancy with Isabella. It's possible she wasn't aware of the pregnancy yet. 

Nordisk Børneforsorgs Konference

Crown princess Mary was present at the opening of the Nordic Child Protection Conference, at the Falkoner Center in Frederiksberg.

She was accompanied by her lady-in-waiting, Caroline Heering.

Mary was in the very first stage of her pregnancy with Isabella. Maybe she wasn't yet aware of the pregnancy herself.

Hjerteforeningens Family Course

As their patron crown princess Mary was present at the Danish Heart Association's family course day, on a Sunday morning in Horsens. She was accompanied by her lady-in-waiting, Caroline Heering.

600 heart patients and their families participated in the annual family day.

Mary wore a new gold, diamond and laminar necklace by Marianne Dulong. A few weeks earlier she'd already been seen wearing the matching ring.

Mary was in the very first stage of her pregnancy with Isabella. It's well possible she wasn't yet aware of it herself.

Odense Blomsterfestival

Crown princess Mary was present in Odense for the opening of the city's Flower Festival.

She also baptized a new flower species, "Kronprinsessens Klokkeblomst" (the crown princess's 'klokkeblomst')

Mary was accompanied by her lady-in-waiting, Caroline Heering.

Mary was in the very first stage of her pregnancy with Isabella. The news hadn't been made public yet, and the crown princess probably wasn't aware of the pregnancy herself yet.

Designers' Nest & CPH Vision

After being at the opening of CIFF, Mary and  lady-in-waiting Caroline Heering also attended CIFF's little brothers, Designers' Nest and CPH Vision 3 days later.

The crown princess presented the Designers' Nest Award to Finnish Riina Hirvonen at Øksnehallen in Copenhagen.

Mary wore a new set of bangle bracelets by Malene Birger.

Mary was in the very first stage of her pregnancy with Isabella. The news wasn't public yet, and it's likely she wasn't aware herself yet.

At the opening of CIFF

The first official activity after Mary's summer holidays was dedicated to her patronage CIFF.

Together with her lady-in-waiting, Caroline Heering, she attended the opening of the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair at Bella Center.

For this occasion Mary wore new pumps by Pura Lopez.

Mary was in the very first stage of her pregnancy with Isabella. It wasn't public yet - maybe she wasn't yet aware herself.

Graasten 2006: scooter ride

Towards the end of their summer stay at Graasten castle, Fred & Mary were seen riding a 1954 Lambretta scooter that used to belong to Frederik's grandfather, king Frederik IX. Crown prince Frederik received it as an 18th birthday gift from queen Ingrid.

The couple and their dog Ziggy made a ride outside the royal castle's grounds.

Mary became pregnant with Isabella around this time.

Graasten 2006: Changing of the guards + concert

The day after the official press moment, the extended Danish royal family showed itself again to the press.

At noon they watched the changing of the guards.

Mary wore new Prada pumps. Earlier she'd been wearing the same pair in blue.

Her new skirt was by DAY, Birger et Mikkelsen.

And in the late afternoon they attended a concert at the chapel of Gråsten Slot. They had all changed their outfits for this occasion. Mary wore a new top by Heartmade.

Mary became pregnant with Isabella around this time.

Graasten 2006: photo shoot

Right after their holidays at the château de Cayx in France, Frederik & his little family moved on to the annual family gathering at Gråsten castle.

The entire family posed for the press.

Little prince Christian was very much the focal point of the photo shoot. Carina Axelsson was present at the photo call for the first time, making her relationship with prince Gustav von Berleburg official.

Mary wore a new skirt by Malene Birger.

It was around this time crown princess Mary became pregnant for the second time. Quite soon, since Christian was only 9 months of age.
