Vancouver Olympics: Ski Biathlon

Frederik & Mary attended the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada from the 9th to the 19th of February. While crown prince Frederik of Denmark was present as an official IOC member, Mary had no official activities and was only listed as accompanying her husband. She arrived later. The children were at home in Denmark.

Mary accompanied Frederik to the 10 kilometer men's ski biathlon where Fred, as an IOC member, got to hand out the medals.


 



On a TV interview for Go'Morgen Danmark Frederik and Mary were asked whether there was any rivalry between them in regards to the Danish and Australian contestants. Frederik admitted that there was some rivalry and pointed out that the Austrailian contestant came in right after the Danish. Mary on the other hand said that there was no rivalry at all between them. They were there to cheer the Danish contestant - Trying to be more professional and diplomatic in her role.

Prince Henrik's 75th Birthday: Songs, Parade & Gala

On the actual day of Henrik's 75th birthday, Frederik, Mary, Christian and Isabella were among the crowd who brought the traditional morgensang underneath Henrik & Margrethe's window at Fredensborg Palace.

Mary's new cardigan was by Ann Taylor.






Princess Alexandra von Berleburg was also present.


A glimpse of the children's new nanny, Emilie Bruhn.


In the course of the day a parade was held at Fredensborg in honour of the Danish prince consort.



Mary wore a new dress by Malene Birger and new Prada pumps.


In the evening the royal family asisted at a gala dinner at Fredensborg.







 


Crown princess Mary wore a new tiara: Charlotte Lynggaard's Midnight Diadem. Her new earrings and brooch were from the same set.

Wedding of prince Joachim and Marie Cavallier

Prince Joachim's second wedding, to French Marie Cavallier took place in the church of Møgeltønder where the couple resided at the time, at Schackenborg Castle.

The Danish royals were driven from Graasten Slot to Møgeltønder. Among the 300 guests were:

 Per & Ulla Thornit




Mary wore a new gown by Ole Yde.



It was the last time she wore the ruby tiara in its full glorious version, as it had been designed for queen Ingrid.





Joachim entered the church accompanied by his two sons, Nikolai (8) and Felix (5).



Arrival of the bride. Marie's gown was designed by Arasa Morelli. Her diamond earrings were a gift from her mother. Her diamond tiara was a gift from queen Margrethe II.







During the service prince Felix had trouble staying awake.
