Back from Rome
1 October 2003
Mary & Frederik return from their holiday in Rome. They're picked up at the airport by valet Knud Momme.
The couple spent 9 days in Italy. They started the holiday in Rome. They stayed at queen Ingrid's favourite hotel in Rome, the 5 star Hassler Villa Medici next to the Spanish Steps. Then they spent a few days on the island of Ischia, and finished their trip in Brindisi.
Mary carries a Celine black 'Boogie' tote.
Her sunglasses are from Dolce & Gabbana.

The engagement is anounced
24 September 2003
In an official communication from Court, queen Margrethe II anounced that she gives her consent to the marriage of her son to Mary Elizabeth Donaldson.
At the same time it was anounced that Mary had resigned from her job at Navision.
Her CV was added to Frederik's on the official website of the Danish Monarchy. It was accompanied by her first official photos, taken by Steen Evald.
While Denmark was buzzing with the (expected) news, Frederik & Mary were on holiday in Rome. It's there that Frederik proposed to Mary earlier on.
