Summer holidays: France

Late July 2006

Mary, Fred and Christian spent the last week of July in France, at the château de Cayx. They were joined by Birgitte and Jeppe Handwerk, who brought their daughter India - she was born 3 weeks after Christian.

While Mary, Birgitte and the babies flew to France, Frederik and Jeppe drove by car.

Mary spotted by paparazzi in Cahors.

Summer holidays: Fredensborg

July 2006

Mary was seen walking Christian in the park of Fredensborg palace.

Summer holidays: Blokhus & Skagen

Mid July 2006

The little family spent their 6 week summer holiday mostly in Denmark.

They started by visiting Mary's former lady-in-waiting, countess Victoria Bernstorff-Gyldensten and her husband Frants at their estate.

The crown prince and his wife also spent a few days with queen Margrethe and prince Henrik at Marselisborg castle.

Then they spent a week with Malou & Jørgen Skeel at their summer houses in Blokhus and Skagen, where other friends also dropped by.

Paparazzi caught sight of the royals and their VIP friends various times while in Blokhus, at Vesterhavet Strand and in Skagen.

Seeing Susan & John

Before they went on holidays with friends, Fred, Mary and Ziggy made a visit to John Donaldson and Susan Moody in Nyhavn, Copenhagen.

At the time both Mary's father and stepmother gave lectures at the University of Copenhagen. They lived in a Nyhavn apartment.

Frederik and Mary released new photos of their son, at nearly 9 months of age.

It are family snapshots, taken in Kancellihuset's garden.

Robbie Williams concert

6 July 2006

The first sighting of Mary during her 6 week summer break was at a Robbie Williams concert at Parken stadium in Copenhagen.

She & Frederik were accompanied by friends, including Peter & Caroline Heering and Birgitte & Jeppe Handwerk.

Mary wore a new necklace by Malene Birger.

Luxembourg silver wedding: day 2

1 July 2006

At 11:00 the royal guests joined grand duke Henri and grand duchess Maria Teresa for the opening of the new Museum for Modern Art Mudam.

Mary wore a new cardigan by Prada and a new skirt by Hugo Boss.

At noon there was a picknick.

At night there was a private dinner and ball at Château Berg, the grand dukes' home.

Mary wore a new gown by Strenesse.

The end of the silver wedding festivities meant the start of Fred and Mary's 6 week summer holiday.
