Six month pregnant crown princess Mary joined her husband, crown prince Frederik when he officially opened a rehabilitation centre for Danish soldiers wounded in action.
The couple and their entourage arrived at 10:00.
The centre was part of Copenhagen's Rigshospitalet.
Caroline Heering acted as Mary's lady-in-waiting. Caroline's own husband, Peter Heering was at the time deployed in Afghanistan.
At 19:00 the crown prince couple and princess Marie joined queen Margrethe II & prince Henrik for a concert and dinner at Fredensborg Palace, offered to a selection of Danish scientists and researchers.
Once again, Caroline Heering was at Mary's side as her lady-in-waiting.
Mary wore a new necklace by Marianne Dulong.
At dinner she was seated next to the rector of Aarhus University.
Crown prince Frederik & crown princess Mary made a 5-day official trip to Washington, USA as an official way to mark the 50th anniversary of the Danish embassy in the American capital. The trip largerly focused on Danish architecture and on H.C. Andersen. Mary was in the first stage of her third pregnancy, expecting twins. The news hadn't been made public yet.
The crown prince couple had arrived in Washington, in the company of their members of staff, among them lady-in-waiting Caroline Heering, chief of court Ove Ullerup and Mary's hair and make up artist, Søren Hedegaard.

Visits to public school 'John Eaton Elementary School', where students presented HC Andersen fairy tales and demonstrate their work with Danish culture in education.
Mary gave a speech where she said: "I am looking forward to hearing and seeing what you have learnt about Denmark. You may not know this, but I was born in Australia, far far away from Denmark. Before I met my husband, I admit that I did not know much about Denmark. So just as you, I had to learn about Danish society, culture and history."
She was wearing a new pearl bracelet by Marianne Dulong.

Lunch at the Danish ambassador's residence with Danish artists and scientists who live and work in the USA.

Visit to youth center "Sitar Arts Center" where 5-12 year olds had been helped by the Washington Ballet for a dance performance of "The Wild Swans".

Official opening of the Odense City Museums' exhibition "The Wild Swans" at the Meridian International Center. The exhibition showed decoupage and costumes designed by queen Margrethe for film "The Wild Swans".
