IOC Congress: Final Reception

At 16:00 the crown prince couple attended the concluding reception of the IOC Congress at Tivoli, accompanied by Mary's lady-in-waiting Tanja Doky.







Earlier that day Frederik's 3 year networking efforts to become an IOC member had paid off when he was officially elected in a ceremony at Bella Center with 77 votes against 9. The crown prince’s candidature to a politicized organisation with a dubious reputation had been the subject of much criticism and debate in the Danish media.

She wore a new daisy brooch by Georg Jensen and a new skirt by Strenesse.

Australian Holidays: Day 11

On their second day in Melbourne, Mary visited her patronage, the Alannah and Madeline Foundation.

Mary said she was "delighted to have had the opportunity to find out more about how The Alannah And Madeline Foundation initiative works and to talk about their programs at The Mary Foundation".




At night she was joined by Frederik at the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne for the Alannah & Madeline Fundraising Dinner.

They were welcomed by The Alannah and Madeline Chair, John Bertrand and his wife Suzzy.


They were in the company of Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.







Mary pronounced a speech.

Royal Life Guards' 350th anniversary: Tattoo

To celebrate the 350th anniversary of the Royal Life Guards, various members of the Danish royal family were present at the many activities.

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attended the International Military Tattoo at Rosenborg.
