Forskningens Døgn 2010 + Goodbye to Per Thornit

22 April 2010

As patron, crown princess Mary was present at the official opening of "Research Day", at Planetariet in Copenhagen.

Mary arrived at 10:00

Mary also handed out the Forskningskommunikationspris.

Later that day, Mary joined Frederik, Joachim & Mary for a farewell reception for the crown prince couple's retiring chief of court, Per Thornit.

Mærsk McKinny Møller was also among the guests.

Mary was in the first stage of her third pregnancy, expecting twins. The news hadn't been made public yet.

Per Thornit would later say he was one of the first to hear from Frederik that Mary was having twins. Thorning had become very close to both Frederik and Joachim over the years, and he'd been Mary's mentor on her way to becoming crown princess, guiding her during her first years in Denmark.
