From 7 to 18 of December 2009 the United Nation's Climate Change Conference (COP15) took place in Copenhagen. As patron of the Climate Consortium Denmark, crown prince Frederik was involved in many of the activities. Crown princess Mary also attended a number of activities.

As patron of the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair, crown princess Mary attended the Scandinavian "Fashion Summit" that was held at the Opera in Copenhagen. The summit naturally focused on sustainable fashion as it was organized for COP15.
Mary arrived at 16:40. She wore new pumps by Dolce & Gabbana.
In the evening, at 20:00, the crown princess also attended an official dinner at Copenhagen's town hall, for the guests at the Fashion Summit.
At both events Mary was accompanied by her lady-in-waiting, Tanja Doky and by the Director of the Danish Fashion Institute, Eva Kruse.
Crown princess Mary of Denmark spent 2 days in Sweden to participate in activities for the 20th anniversary of the United Nation's Declaration of the Rights of the Child.
Other royals attending were: king Carl Gustav & queen Silvia of Sweden, crown princess Victoria of Sweden and her fiancé Daniel Westling, princess Madeleine of Sweden & her fiancé Jonas Bergström, queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, queen Sofia of Spain, queen Paola of the Belgians, grand duchess Maria-Teresa of Luxembourg, crown princess Mette-Marit of Norway, princess Margarita of Romania and princess Katherine of Yugoslavia.
In the morning, the royal delegation visited a children's home in Stockholm.
Mary wore 2 new bracelets by Georg Jensen.

At night there was a concert at Berwaldhallen in Stockholm.
This was one of last times Madeleine & Jonas were seen together in public. The engagement would be broken off a few months later.
Mary burst out laughing when she got the heels of her Louboutins stuck in a grating while trying to pose for the press...
Mary didn't need a hotel, she stayed at the royal palace in Stockholm.
After having been constantly picked up by the press in Hobart, Mary and her family managed to go under the radar in Melbourne and Sydney.
Like for Melbourne, the Sydney part of the holiday contained 1 workday, when Mary officially opened a new medical research facility of the Victor Chang Institute.
For this activity she wore a new Prada suit.
At night, Mary & Frederik were guests of honour at the at Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute dinner.
