Skin Cancer Prevention

As patron of the Danish Cancer Society, crown princess Mary launched a skin cancer prevention campaign at Børnehave Sommerfuglen in Gentofte.



She read "En bog om solen" to the toddlers. This book was written by Swedish Pernilla Stalfelt and contains a foreword by crown princess Mary.




Mary was 8 months into her second pregnancy. She was accompanied by Caroline Heering, her lady-in-waiting.

Kræftens Bekæmpelse Conference

14 November 2006

Crown princess Mary was present at the Cancer Society conference "Små børn - små sørger?" in Copenhagen on the grief of children who are faced with disease and death.


The conference lasted from 9:00 to 16:00. Mary was present from 10:00 to 12:00. She was accompanied by Caroline Heering, her lady-in-waiting.







Mary was pregnant with Isabella.

Anker Fjord Hospice

12 October 2006

At 14:00 crown princess Mary inaugurated the new Anker Fjord Hospice for terminally ill persons, in Hvide Sande. She was accompanied by her lady-in-waiting, Caroline Heering.

Several hundreds were waiting for Mary outside the hospice.





The hospice is run by Kræftens Bekæmpelse, one of Mary's patronages.




After official speeches the crown princess visited the rooms and some of the patients.


Mary was in the first stage of her pregnancy with Isabella. The news hadn't been made public yet, it would be anounced 2 weeks later.

Opening of a New Oncological Center

As the patron of the Danish Cancer Society, Mary attended the official opening of a new Cancer Research Center in Vejle. Her lady-in-waiting, countess Victoria Bernstorff-Gyldensteen, accompanied her.

 


She wore her French Tank watch by Cartier with a new camel coloured strap.

Research Day 2005

During Research Day crown princess Mary handed out the Research Communications Prize to sports physiology expert doctor Bente Klarlund Petersen of Copenhagen University (now Rigshospitalet), for her work on the importance of getting enough excercise.

Mary was pregnant with Christian.

 





Mary wore a new jacket by Clements Ribeiro. 


Mary was accompanied by her lady-in-waiting, countess Victoria Bernstorff-Gyldensteen.

 

A year later, in 2006, Bente Klarlund Pedersen became a board member of the "Kronprins Frederiks og kronprinsesse Marys Fond". She is also the chairwoman of Kræftens Bekæmpelse, one of Mary's patronages.

Inauguration of a new oncological center

As patron of the Danish Cancer Society, Mary was asked to open a new cancer research center.




Mary was accompanied by her lady-in-waiting. It hadn't been anounced yet that she was pregnant.

Fifth Patronage: Kræftens Bekæmpelse

On the same day she attended the HC Andersen reception at Copenhagen's town hall, crown princess Mary gave the official kick off for the annual fundraising campaign of the Danish Cancer Society at Fredensborg.

She is the Society's patron.


Mary was pregnant with Christian. The news hadn't been made public yet.

At a breast cancer fundraiser

Mary was the guest of honor at a lunch of "Pink Tribute", a breast cancer support organisation.115 paying guests were present at this fundraiser.

The lunch took place at the American ambassador's residence Rydhave, on Strandvejen in Charlottenlund.




Mary was accompanied by her lady-in-waiting, countess Victoria Bernstoff-Gyldensteen.
