Queen Margrethe II hosted the third or grand new year's court for the armed forces and emergency agencies officers, the representatives of the royal patronages and national organisations, at Christiansborg Slot.

As usual, the queen and prince were driven in Christian VIII's gilded coach from 1840 to Christiansborg accompanied by the Guard Hussars.

It was the first time Mary was invited to attend this third new year's court.

The ceremony started with a speech by the most senior ambassador, to which the queen responded with a few words of her own.

Once the court was over, in the afternoon, Mary changed into her fur coat and went out for a spot of shopping in the streets of Copenhagen.

After getting a coffee to go at Joe & The Juice (owned by their friend Johan Wedell-Wedellsborg), Mary left Frederik to take a look inside the high end interior shop Rue Verte on the Grønnegade.

She came across Morten Fabricius, night club owner and friend of Fred & Mary's.

Later that day Mary was spotted shopping at Birger Christensen on Strøget in the company of her stylists, Anja Alajdi and Søren Heedegaard.

Queen Margrethe II hosted an official dinner at Christiansborg Slot for the heads of state and government leaders taking part in the UN's Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.

Because negotiations took longer than planned, the dinner was shortened by 40 mintes - soup was skipped. Also some participants left earlier to continue their work. Leader of the negotiations, Connie Hedegaard cancelled her attendance.

Greenpeace activists managed to come into Borgen to protest with the slogan "politician talk, leaders act".
