Second New Year's Court of 2010

At 9:50 queen Margrethe held her annual new year's court at Christiansborg Slot for the members for the corps diplomatique and the members of the Royal Life Guard.


She was asisted by prince Henrik, crown prince Frederik and crown princess Mary.

The ceremony started with a speech by the most senior ambassador, to which the queen responded with a few words of her own.












Once the court was over, in the afternoon, Mary changed into her fur coat and went out for a spot of shopping in the streets of Copenhagen.

After getting a coffee to go at Joe & The Juice (owned by their friend Johan Wedell-Wedellsborg), Mary left Frederik to take a look inside the high end interior shop Rue Verte on the Grønnegade.


She came across Morten Fabricius, night club owner and friend of Fred & Mary's.


Later that day Mary was spotted shopping at Birger Christensen on Strøget in the company of her stylists, Anja Alajdi and Søren Heedegaard.

Meeting the Obamas + IOC Congress

2 October 2009

US President Barack Obama joined his wife Michelle in Copenhagen for a flash visit. The couple was received at Christiansborg Slot. While the president had a meeting with PM Lars Løkke Rasmussen, the first lady was given a tour by the regent couple and the crown prince couple.








At 18:30 crown prince Frederik & crown princess Mary attended the IOC Congress at Bella Center where the location of the 2016 Olympics was anounced - Rio de Janeiro.

Naval Officers' Jubilee

The crown prince and the crown princess attended the reception for the Naval Officers' Society's 150 years jubilee, at the Naval Hospital in Copenhagen.


Tanja Doky accompanied them, as Mary's lady-in-waiting.

Summer Cruise: Day 2

Visit to Svendborg and Rudkøbing.



Christian and Isabella were taken on land by their nannies, who took care of them during the day.








In the evening there was a reception on board the Dannebrog, among the guests were Michael and Caroline Ahlefeldt-Laurvig.


At night the Dannebrog sailed away from Svendborg.

Visit to Iceland: day 1

Crown prince Frederik and crown princess Mary made a 5-day visit to Iceland. They were the guests of president Olafur Ragnar Grimsson and his wife, Israeli born Dorrit Moussaieff.

Mary and Frederik were accompanied by Per Thornit and Tanja Doky.

Just before noon they arrived in Reykjavik.



Frederik said: "I've been here four-five times in connection with the Navy. This time Mary is with me and I'm really delighted about that. It's lovely to share the experiences and we look very much forward to start the exiting shedule. To get out in the nature but also to see the historic places which my ancestors, the Danish kings have visited. We have for many years talked about going to Iceland together. Now it has finally come true".



After the official reception there was a lunch for 30 guests.

At 13:30 they visited Áslands School in Hafnarfjörður.




At 14:20 Mary visited the Culture House.



Afterwards there were also short visits to a Design Center and to the University.





At 16:30 they stopped at the Sigurjóns Ólafssonar art gallery.



At 19:30 Mary wore a new Nina Ricci gown for the gala dinner, in the company of 80 dignitaries.



Mary wore the pink version of her monogrammed Cenius & Bach earrings for the first time in public.








For the duration of the visit, the crown princes stayed in the Presidential guest house.
