Next Holiday Stop: Miami

From Switzerland, Frederik, Mary, the children & the nanny flew straight to Miami, Florida, where Frederik participated in the Farr 40 sailing competition. Unfortunately, the Danish crown prince strained his ankle on his last day on the slopes.

Skiing in Klosters

22 February - 1 March 2009

Frederik, Mary & their two children went on their annual skiing trip to Switzerland. This time they opted for Klosters instead of Verbier.

The royal family had joined their friends Jørgen & Marie Louise Skeel with son Holger, Peter & Caroline Heering and their daughters Emilie & Rosemarie, and Lego CEO's daughter Sofie Kirk Kristiansen & husband Christopher Kiær Thomsen with their two children. They all took the private Lego jet to Zürich.

When asked if there would be 3 children with them on their next Swiss holiday, Mary answered: "We can't say that with certainty but it's not impossible. It could be lovely if we would. Lovely if we could be so fortunate to have yet one more little one".

Australian Holidays: A night on the town

Mary, Frederik and Amber were joined by about 10 other friends for a night at Hugos in Manly, Sydney. They stayed untill closing time.

A few days later Mary was reported shopping in Bondi.

This was the last sighting of Mary, before they returned home to Denmark.

Mary, Frederik and their children had a meeting with the press at Sydney's Government House for an official photo moment.

After having been constantly picked up by the press in Hobart, Mary and her family managed to go under the radar in Melbourne and Sydney.

Like for Melbourne, the Sydney part of the holiday contained 1 workday. when Mary officially opened a new medical research facility of the Victor Chang Institute.

At night, Mary & Frederik were guests of honour at the at Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute dinner.

Mary wore a new dress by Rikke Mai.

 

Australian Holidays: Meeting up with Chris Meehan

After their stay in Melbourne, a week of Sydney was still on the menu. They stayed in a Belle Property flat with ocean views and 3 bedrooms in the Alex Popov-designed Coast building at Manly. The flat was for sale at $2.495 million.

Paparazzi spotted Mary, Frederik & the kids meeting up with Chris Meehan and Amber Petty in Manly, a suburb of Sydney.

Afterwards nanny Helene took Christian and Isabella to Oceanworld.
