Opening a Health Center

21 April 2006

About 600 people were waiting for crown prince Frederik & crown princess Mary to open a new advanced Health Center in Odense, at 11:30.

An hour earlier the crown princes had arrived with prince Christian at Hotel Knudsens Gård in Odense. The 6 month old prince staid there with his nanny while his parents were received at the town hall and opened the health center.

Visit to Schleswig-Holstein: day two, Kiel

18 February 2006

At 8:00 the Danish delegation moved from Hamburg to Kiel, the capital of the Schleswig-Holstein region. They stopped at the Kieler Kaufmann Hotel with Christian, so he could be breastfed by Mary.

At around 11:00 the crown princely couple arrived in a limousine at the Kiel Kunsthalle to visit a Danish art expo with PM Carstensen.

Mary carried a new Prada purse. Her new suit and shirt were by Strenesse.

At noon the prince & princess had lunch with regional prime minister Peter Harry Carstensen. Mary went to breastfeed Christian who had been brought to the Waldschlösschen Hotel in Schleswig.

At 14:45 Mary & Frederik were shown the Valdemar wall at the Danewerke, a Danish fortification system that used to be the border between Denmark and Germany.

Last stop of the day was the Gottorf castle, where the couple was shown the famous globes and a reception was held, in the company of 60 Danes living in this German region.

After their official 2 day visit to the Schleswig-Holstein region Frederik, Mary and Christian left for Verbier, Switzerland, to go skiing with friends.

Australia tour: day 3

On Sunday the couple participated in an Australia versus Denmark yacht race in Sydney harbour.

Mary competed in the Australian "Belle Property" team, financed by her former boss Chris Meehan.

Mary carried a new Prada bag.

In the evening Frederik & Mary attended a reception for the sailors, at the Cruising Yacht Club in Sydney.

                                                                   

Mary was in the first stages of her pregnancy with Christian. The news hadn't been made public yet.

Australia tour: day 1

At 21.20 o'clock Mary arrived at Sydney airport for the official tour through Australia. "It's lovely to be back in Australia," she said to the press who were awaiting her.

Frederik had arrived several days earlier to participate in a Farr 40 sailing race.

Police escorted her to the exclusive Shangri-La hotel at The Rocks where the couple was staying in a suite.

Visit to Berlin: day 1

7 November 2004

Ahead of an official day in Berlin, Frederik & Mary spent a day in the German capital as tourists.

They arrived in the morning by plane and visited some of the main tourist attractions: the Reichstag that houses German parliament, the Brandenburger Tor, the TV tower, the wall monument, and Schloß Cecilienhof in Potsdam.

Mary wore a new Prada coat.

At night they went to "Paris Bar", where Danish artist Tal R. and some guests spent an evening with the couple: galerist Bruno Brunnet & his wife Nicole, Danish ambassador Gunnar Ortmann, artists Jonathan Meese and Daniel Richter, Per Kirkeby and Olafur Eliasson.

Mary wore another new Prada coat.

At 0:30 they left for their hotel, the 5-star Schlosshotel Vier Jahreszeiten. 

Arrival in Greece

12 August 2004

Mary & Frederik arrive in Athens, Greece for the Olympics 2004. They were there for the whole duration of the Games, untill the 29th of August 2004.

Because it was Mary's first visit abroad as crownprincess, there was large press attention from Denmark and Australia.

They stayed at the Grande Bretagne hotel in Athens.

At night they were guests at a reception hosted by the Danish ambassador in Greece, Hans Grunnet, at Café Scandinavia in Athens.

 

Sailing in Ireland

From 18 to 23 August 2003 Mary accompanied Frederik for a couple of days to Kinsale, county Cork, Ireland, where he participated in a sailing competition - the European Dragon Masters. His team, with their boat Nanoq, finished 4th.

During the race, Mary hung out with the partners of Frederik's sailing companions, Berit Lorentzen and Lone Hendriksen. They watched the competition from a boat, went grocery shopping and went to a pub. They talked in Danish and English.

Frederik and Mary stayed at the Trident Hotel in Kinsale.
