Anker Fjord Hospice

12 October 2006

At 14:00 crown princess Mary inaugurated the new Anker Fjord Hospice for terminally ill persons, in Hvide Sande. She was accompanied by her lady-in-waiting, Caroline Heering.

Several hundreds were waiting for Mary outside the hospice.

The hospice is run by Kræftens Bekæmpelse, one of Mary's patronages.

After official speeches the crown princess visited the rooms and some of the patients.

Mary was in the first stage of her pregnancy with Isabella. The news hadn't been made public yet, it would be anounced 2 weeks later.

Odense Blomsterfestival

Crown princess Mary was present in Odense for the opening of the city's Flower Festival.

She also baptized a new flower species, "Kronprinsessens Klokkeblomst" (the crown princess's 'klokkeblomst')

Mary was accompanied by her lady-in-waiting, Caroline Heering.

Mary was in the very first stage of her pregnancy with Isabella. The news hadn't been made public yet, and the crown princess probably wasn't aware of the pregnancy herself yet.

Opening new psychiatric hospital

As the patron of PsykiatriFonden, crown princess Mary opened a new psychiatric hospital in Helsingør.

She was accompanied by her lady-in-waiting, Caroline Heering.

Hjerteugen

As patron of the Danish Heart Foundation, crown princess Mary opened the Heart Week by introducing the 'hjertebiler': infocars about heart disease.

Mary wore a new cap by Susanne Juul.

Caroline Heering accompanied Mary on this visit, as her lady-in-waiting.

Opening a Health Center

21 April 2006

About 600 people were waiting for crown prince Frederik & crown princess Mary to open a new advanced Health Center in Odense, at 11:30.

An hour earlier the crown princes had arrived with prince Christian at Hotel Knudsens Gård in Odense. The 6 month old prince staid there with his nanny while his parents were received at the town hall and opened the health center.

Nursing Home

11 April 2006

Crown princess Mary opened the Knud Lavard nursing home in Ringsted.

Mary wore a new Hugo Boss suit.

Tanja Doky acted as her lady-in-waiting, as a one-off. A few years later Tanja would fulfill this role full time.

Lady-in-waiting Caroline Heering was also present though.

At the opening of CIFF

9 February 2006

Mary attended the opening of the Copenhagen Fashion Fair, of which she would be the patron untill 2013.

At Bella Center she first watched the CIFFkids Trendshow. In the afternoon she also saw other fashion shows. Mary was accompanied by countess Victoria Bernstorff-Gyldensteen, her lady-in-waiting.

She wore new Prada boots and a new skirt by CCDK.

 

In the first half of the year crown princess Mary would only gradually take up official activities. She was also breastfeeding Christian.

Suicide Prevention Day

10 September 2005

As patron of PsykiatriFonden crown princess Mary opened a day of conferences dedicated to World Suicide Prevention Day, at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen.

She was accompanied by her lady-in-waiting, countess Victoria Bernstorff-Gyldensteen.

This was Mary's last official activity before the birth of her first child, 5 weeks later.

Caravanen

21 August 2005

Pregnant crown princess Mary opened the International Children's Theater Festival "Caravanen" in Slagelse.

She was accompanied by her lady-in-waiting, Victoria Bernstorff-Gyldensteen.
