Seventeenth patronage: Forskningens Døgn

4 May 2006

As patron crown princess Mary was present in Odense for the opening of Research Day. She was accompanied by her lady-in-waiting Caroline Heering. The ladies arrived by train, which had a bit of delay.

She awarded the Research Communications Award to Morten Kringelbach at Odense town hall. They had a brunch and then took part in some of the activities that were organized.

Mary's father, John Donaldson also took part in some of the activities. He was teaching mathematics at Copenhagen university and thus fitted into the program.

Christening of India Handwerk

25 February 2006

Two days after Mary, Frederik & Christian had returned from their skiing holidays in Verbier, they attended the christening of India Handwerk, the first daughter of Jeppe Handwerk & Birgitte Zachau.

Mary wore a new Prada coat.

After the ceremony in Kastels church in Copenhagen, Mary went back to Amalienborg palace to fetch Christian and bring him to the reception. Mary was still breastfeeding him.

At night the princely couple also attended the christening party.

Barely a week later the crown princes of Denmark would fly to Oslo for another christening.
