Actress Ellen Hillingsø is the daughter of general Kjeld Hillingsø and Bridget Hillingsø. As the goddaughter of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, Hillingsø often attends royal functions and events. She's known Frederik all her life. She is married to film directir Christoffer Castenskiold. They have two children, Thomas & Anna.

Holger Foss met Frederik through his mother, a close friend of queen Margrethe's. When the royal family was in residence at Aarhus, Holger was the perfect playmate for Frederik whom he's known since he was ten. They later studied at Aarhus university together, occupying a small house on the Marselisborg palace grounds. Afterwards they travelled trough the US together. Foss is a CEO in the IT Industry. He's married to former ballet dancer Rose Gad. They have 3 children: Hannibal (°2004), Hector (°2005) and Dagmar Louise (°2007).
