Beijing Olympics: Day 1

9 August 2008

Mary watched the women's gymnastics while Frederik attended a luncheon hosted by the authorities.

At 15:00, Frederik and Mary, accompanied by Per Thornit and princess Benedikte, were guests of honour at a reception of the Danish embassy.

At 19:30 they attended a Bournonville ballet performance by the Danish Royal Ballet Company.

Mary wore a new dress by Rikke Mai.

Beijing Olympics: Opening

Crown prince Frederik and crown princess Mary were invited by president Hu Jintao for an official welcoming luncheon for heads of state and government leaders.

In November 2016, Mary's dress was sold at Haberdash.

Later the same day, the couple attended the Opening Ceremony.
Mary wore a new dress by Strenesse.

Beijing Olympics: arrival

7 August 2008

Crown princess Mary and Per Thornit arrived together in Beijing, China for the Olympics.

Crown prince Frederik, as an International Committee Observer, had arrived a few days earlier.

Later that day, Frederik and Mary F&M attended an Australian team reception at the Sofitel Wanda Hotel.

Mary told the press: "My allegiance is with Denmark, but as Denmark and Australia don't compete so often, I also follow the Australian athletes as closely as I possibly can."

Mary wore new earrings by Marianne Dulong.

Graasten Holidays

26 July 2008

After holidaying in the Aarhus area (Marselisborg) and in Skagen, Mary, Frederik and their two children continued their Danish holidays at Graasten Castle where the spent another week.

They were joined by queen Margrethe, prince Henrik, princess Benedikte, princess Alexandra Berleburg and her two children, Richard and Ingrid von Pfeil. 

The family was seen at Legoland, and riding their horses.

Swimming Championships

6 July 2008

Crown prince Frederik & crown princess Mary watched the Danish Swimming Championships at the Gladsaxe Svømmeklub in Aalborg.

Mary is the patron of the Danish Swimming Union.

Wimbledon

3 & 4 July 2008

A week after her previous visit, Mary was back in London.

On this private trip with Frederik, she was spotted watching the Wimbledon finals.

Holidaying in Miami

Frederik, Mary and their children Christian and Isabella spent a week in Miami, Florida where Frederik participated in the Farr 40 sailing competition.

Legends Live

13 November 2007

Frederik and Mary watched the Legends Live Tennis Tournament at KB Hallen in Frederiksberg. They watched Bjørn Borg and John McEnroe play.

They were accompanied by Christian & Elisabeth Buchwald and their 3 children. 

They all had a snack and a drink before leaving.

Mary carried a new Prada handbag.
