Wedding of Laetitia Bechtolf & prince Phillip von Hessen

Frederik & Mary were in Germany for a day to attend the wedding of prince Phillip von Hessen (36) and Laetitia Bechtolf (28), at the groom's family estate, Schloss Panker in Schleswig-Holstein.

Mary carried a new clutch by Pura Lopez.

Prince Philipp von Hessen is prince Richard von Berleburg's nephew. He works as a photographer for big names such as Vogue, Tatler, Conde Nast, Hugo Boss, Pucci... Philipp made this portrait of crown prince Frederik for the 2003 "young royalty" issue of Vanity Fair.

Laetitia Bechtolf works for her father's company "Niche Beauty", an online cosmetics shop.

The couple now have a daughter, Elena, and a son, Tito.

Wedding of Annette Petersen & Thomas Olsen

Frederik and Mary were among the guests who celebrated the wedding of Thomas Olsen (37) and Annette Petersen, at Holckenhavn Slot on the island Fyn.

Thomas Olsen is an IT millionair and investor. He's known for having bought and sold various Danish footbal clubs. Although not often on the foreground, Thomas and his wife Annette are friends of Frederik & Mary's. They also assisted at their wedding in 2004.

 

The castle isn't the couple's home. It was 'just' their wedding venue.

Wedding of Søren Hedegaard & Preben Kristensen

Mary's hairdresser Søren Hedegaard (then 50) and actor Preben Kristensen (then 52) got married in their own garden in Charlottenlund (Copenhagen). They'd been a couple for 20 years before getting married.

Mary & Frederik were among the guests at the wedding party that was also a birthday party.

At Alison Donaldson's wedding

After the official lap of their first Australia tour, Mary & Fred spent another week holidaying in Tasmania.

They attended the wedding of Mary's cousin, Alison Donaldson to Steve Emery at Swansea, on Tasmania's east coast.

About 40 guests were present at the quiet family affair, held at the farm owned by Alison's parents

John & Susan Donaldson, Patricia & Scott Bailey and Jane Stephens were also present.

Mary was seen with Brendan Johncock, the husband of one of her cousins. He was free in bail after he'd been charged with 16 counts of rape, 3 aggravated sexual assaults, indecent assault and stalking.

After a very succesful & glamorous tour, this caused some negative press for Mary.

Mary was in the first stage of her pregnancy with Christian. The news hadn't been made public yet.

12 years later, in November 2017, Mary's skirt was offered for sale at Habderdash.

Wedding of Rikke Juel & Michael Brandt

Frederik & Mary were guests at the wedding of their friends Rikke Juel and Michael Brandt. During the church ceremony the couple's daughter Ida-Marie was christened. Ida-Marie was born on 23 August 2004.

 

Mary carried a new purse by Mulberry and wore new Prada pumps.

At night the guests changed outfits for the party. Mary wore a new long cardigan by Missoni.

Wedding of Count Bendt Wedell & Pernille Korsbak-Poulsen

Mary and Frederik were among the guests at the wedding of count Bendt Wedell & Pernille Korsbak Poulsen at Husby church on the isle of Fyn.

 

Mary wore new diamond and aquamarine chandelier earrings, a gift from Frederik.

Mary's new gown was by Heartmade.

Among the guests were also queen Margrethe & prince Henrik, prince Joachim & princess Alexandra - they would anounce their divorce 5 days later.

Behind them you see baroness Caroline Fleming and her first husband Rory Fleming.

Count Bendt Wedell (°1975) is the second biggest private landowner in Denmark, and one of Denmark's richest men. He owns two estates: Frijsenborg and Wedellsborg. Bendt's mother is a close friend of queen Margrethe - he and Frederik have known each other all their lives. He's known to be a hunting buddy of Frederik and Joachim. Count Wedell is the director of Wefri, the Frijsenborg & Wedellsborg Farming and Forestry company.

The Frijsenborg estate is situated in Hammel Sogn on Østjylland. It has a magnificent castle.

The couple live at Wedellsborg and own a mansion in Copenhagen where they spend much time.

Bendt & Pernille Wedell have two sons, Hannibal and Tido, and a daughter, Ingeborg. Bendt is godfather to princess Josephine. Crown prince Frederik is godfather to Ingeborg Wedell.
