From Marselisborg Frederik, Mary and their children Christian (4) and Isabella (2,5) moved on to their hunting lodge in Trend.
They spent new year's eve at the nearby Birkselse estate belonging to their friends Jørgen & Malou Skeel and son Holger (4).
On the 30th of December a hunt was organized. Unfortunately a 79 year old participant and former employee of the Skeels had a cardiac arrest and died on the spot. The hunt was broken off.

Juleballet
19 December 2009
Mary took Christian (4) and Isabella (2,5) along to see the Christmas Ballet "Elverhøj" (based on a fairytale by HC Andersen) directed by Susanne Heering at Pakhus 11 on Østerbro. The costumes and setting were designed by queen Margrethe, who was also present at the performance.
Seated on the front row with the royals were Peter Heering and his two daughters, Emilie & Rosemarie who were all of course greeted with a kiss by Mary. Caroline Heering was also present, as Mary's lady-in-waiting.
Caroline was wearing the same suit jacket seen on a Mary in the previous weeks.

Queen Margrethe II hosted an official dinner at Christiansborg Slot for the heads of state and government leaders taking part in the UN's Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.
Because negotiations took longer than planned, the dinner was shortened by 40 mintes - soup was skipped. Also some participants left earlier to continue their work. Leader of the negotiations, Connie Hedegaard cancelled her attendance.
Greenpeace activists managed to come into Borgen to protest with the slogan "politician talk, leaders act".
Crown princess Mary was seated in between British PM Gordon Brown and Australian president Kevin Rudd.
